Remedial massage is designed to treat specific conditions. It may be especially helpful for back and sciatic pain, neck and shoulder tension, arthritis, posture related aches and pains, sports and work related injuries. Treatment will include assessment, assisted stretching and home maintenance plan. A shorter session, such as a 30 minute appointment is best focused on a single problem area. This may include adjacent muscle groups associated with the primary problem.

A 60 minute treatment may be used to treat a specific problem area combined with a general maintenance massage for the rest of the body. Alternately, the full hour can be used to address 2-3 major problem areas.

It may be especially helpful for back and sciatic pain, neck and shoulder tension, arthritis, posture related aches and pains, sports and work related injuries. Treatment will include assessment, assisted stretching and home maintenance plan. A 90 minute treatment is ideal for clients who wish to treat multiple problem areas and may be effectively combined with a general maintenance massage for the rest of the body. Patients who wish to have a full body remedial massage treatment are advised to book a 90 minute appointment.

Pregnancy Massage 60 mins

We use a specially designed pregnancy support to allow you to feel comfortable for the 40 weeks of your pregnancy. This is a nurturing style of massage to relieve postural tension, improve circulation and stimulate cell nutrition. A must throughout your pregnancy!

Pregnancy Massage 90 mins

We use a specially designed pregnancy support to allow you to feel comfortable for the 40 weeks of your pregnancy. This is a nurturing style of massage to relieve postural tension, improve circulation and stimulate cell nutrition. The 90 minute treatment allows for deep relaxation & connection with your growing baby. A must throughout your pregnancy!

Induction Massage for Labour Preparation - Inital Appointment

Induction Massage is a relaxation massage combined with special essential oils and acupressure applied to specific points of the body related to the preparation of the body for labour. A good relaxation induction massage can help elevate your natural levels of Oxytocin (the hormone your body naturally produces when relaxed and happy, in love, making love, when you are ready to birth your baby and is the hormone responsible for the intense bonding of mother and baby immediately following birth). Deep relaxation is important to allow natural stress hormones to reduce and natural ‘birth ready' hormones to increase. The stimulation of acupressure points during your induction massage can assist in supporting natural body processes that are underway during the final stages of pregnancy such as encouraging the descent of the baby into position, dilation of the cervix and facilitation of uterine contractions. These are acupressure points which are normally avoided during pregnancy, for the same reasons they are used duing an induction massage, they can trigger labour! Induction massage can be given close to, on or after your due date. However, from week 38 your therapist can 'prime' these points with relaxing strokes in preparation for labour. As with normal massage, induction massage helps to relax and calm your body, easing tension and helping to create a clear and grounded space. It’s generally a very successful form of labour induction if the body/baby is ready and the mother is willing. Often it is best to be proactive with your induction massage, leave it for a few days and then repeat the massage. Labour is often activated in this manner, as the initial stimulus has primed the woman's body to be more receptive to the following induction treatment. A 90 minute Induction Massage is great to encourage initial deep relaxation & can be followed by additional 90 or 60 minute treatments if required.

Light strokes are applied to the body to stimulate the passage of lymphatic fluid, improving the flow of lymph out of tissues & back into the blood. Lymphatic massage has been found to have positive effect on immune function by increasing the filtration of bacteria through the lymph nodes & the elimination of wastes. Additionally the mechanical drainage of the lymph increases the dispersal of swelling caused by injury or surgery, decreasing healing time & inflammation. Fluid retention of pregnancy & experienced by patients who have had lymph nodes removed as part of cancer treatment, also finds benefits from this type of massage. A 60 minute session is very relaxing & provides a full body treatment that focuses on one area or limb with oedema. Patients usually sleep very well after a treatment.

Prescription of current nutritionals may be changed or continued & herbal or homeopathic medicinal support considered to support your changing health goals. Small or significant diet & lifestyle tweaks will continue to be supported depending on your time frame, current health & determination.

Naturopathy Consult - Acute Phone Prescription 10 mins

Existing patients are invited to book in for a short consultation over the phone in situations where flare-ups of their condition or acute infections are affecting their wellbeing. Colds, flus, digestive disturbance, or urinary infections can be effectively treated with prompt naturopathic care. Your practitioner will prescribe remedies to help limit the duration of your symptoms & encourage your full recovery to health with appropriate rest, nutritional & herbal support. Completing a period of post illness follow up strengthens your resilience & reduces the occurrence of relapse.

Naturopathy Follow-up Phone Consult - Prescription Check-in

After your first face to face check in, usually a month after your initial consult, we like to schedule a brief phone check in 2-3 months later. At this time we get an overview of your symptoms and assess progress to date. This is very important to make sure your supplements and lifestyle prescription are still relevant and prevent unnecessary over prescribing. At this time we will set an appointment for a future follow up consult, particularly if there are other areas of health that are now relevant to work on. We encourage you to write down any questions you might have and bring them up at the phone consult.
