Makeup Information

What is Makeup?

Makeup is used to either subtly enhance features or, at other time, heavier and more defined makeup is used for special events. The use of certain cosmetic substances to enhance the appearance of the face has been a common activity since ancient times. Cleopatra is known to have used pomegranate seeds to make lipstick while ancient Sumerians have used crushed gemstones to decorate their faces.

Makeup tips

The technique used during the application of makeup makes a lot of difference in how your face appears and this is where most people falter. Makeup is an art not many people take seriously. There are certain things one should know about their makeup. A professional like application of makeup products can add layers of elegance to your face and you can bring that magic into your technique through subtle changes. The following tips are something everyone should be aware of to make their makeup experience better.

Using the Concealer

The concealer should never be applied on the eyelids. It will be uncomfortable and will also ruin your eye makeup.
Concealer should be applied first on the oiliest zone of your face. The rest of the face should be covered in relatively lighter layer of the cosmetic.

Using the Blush

The blush should always be applied in moderation so it blends well with the skin tone and doesn't remind people of cartoon characters.
Smile naturally and look in the mirror before you apply blush. Take the brush and apply the blush on the apple of your cheek and use your fingers to blend it down towards the jawline and upwards towards the top of your ears.
A natural looking application looks very appealing.

Applying the Mascara

Mascara plays a prominent role in making the eyelashes look full and dark.
When applying the mascara, the wand should be moved in tight, zig zag motions and not soft and straight moves.
Firstly dig the wand into the root of the lash and then move upwards.

Applying the Bronzer

Bronzer plays an important role in making the skin tone look even and the pores less noticeable.
It should be applied not just on face but neck and chest as well.
If you are wearing an outfit which exposes your back, apply the bronzer on your back as well.
Ensure the visible skin looks the same colour and there is no unevenness.

Using the Lipstick

You can make your lipstick last longer and not chip off by first applying a neutral pencil all over your lips.
Also, you can keep the lipstick well shaped by going over the edges with a concealer brush.
